Το blog της Holly Becker Decor8 είναι ένα από τα πρώτα που άρχισα να διαβάζω κι ένα από τα πιο αγαπημένα μου. Οπότε με το που διάβασα την Δευτέρα στο blog της ότι την Τετάρτη θα είναι στο Μόναχο, για την παρουσίαση του βιβλίου της, ήξερα πως έπρεπε να είμαι εκεί! Το βιβλίο της, Decorate, ένα από τα ωραιότερα βιβλία διακόσμησης που έχουν εκδοθεί, κυκλοφόρησε και στα γερμανικά και μια και η Holly θα ερχόταν στο Μόναχο για να παραλάβει το βραβείο της από το περιοδικό Μyself, αποφασίστηκε πιο πριν να γίνει ένα μικρό πάρτυ στο μαγαζί Νostalgie im Kinderzimmer, ένα υπέροχο, γλυκό μαγαζί...
I've been reading Holly Becker's blog Decor8 for years, it's one of my favorite. So when I read on her blog on Monday that she was going to be in Munich on Wednesday to introduce us to her book I knew I had to be there! Her book, Decorate, I think one of the greatest decorating books ever, was published in German and there was a little party for its launch in Nostalgie im Kinderzimmer, a wonderful, sweet store as Holly would be in Munich to accept an award from Myself magazine anyway.
Κι έτσι γνώρισα την Holly και μου έγραψε και αφιέρωση στο βιβλίο της. Είναι ένας πολύ ζεστός άνθρωπος, που σε γεμίζει έμπνευση και κέφι και σε κάνει να αισθάνεσαι πολύ άνετα. Όσο για το βιβλίο, δεν έχω λόγια! Και το ότι το έχω στα γερμανικά είναι το καλύτερο κίνητρο για να ασχοληθώ με τη γλώσσα!
So I got to meet Holly and get my german copy of her book signed. She is such a warm and inspiring person and she has an aura that makes everyone around her feel cosy and happy. As for the book, I simply have no words! Having the german copy is the best motivation ever to study the language!
Ήταν καταπληκτικό για μένα να είμαι εκεί γιατί ένιωσα πως υπάρχουν στον κόσμο άνθρωποι που ήδη δημιουργούν ακριβώς όσα θέλω κι εγώ να έχω στη ζωή μου.
The greatest thing about being there is the sense that there are people in the world that create the things I love and I want to make and have my life around too.
Η Holly προσφέρει έμπνευση όχι μόνο με το blog και το βιβλίο της αλλά και τις επιλογές της. Δούλευε σε δουλειά γραφείου αλλά αποφάσισε να αλλάξει μονοπάτι και έφτιαξε μόνη της το δικό της και τώρα συζητάμε για το βιβλίο της... Αυτό είναι κάτι που εγώ δεν μπορώ εύκολα να προσπεράσω και η καλύτερη απάντηση σε εκείνους που πάντα βρίσκονται στην ζωή μας και προσπαθούν να σκοτώσουν τα όνειρά μας με τις αμφιβολίες και τους φόβους τους.
Holly offers inspiration not only through her blog and book but also her choices. She used to work in the corporate world but she decided to change this and made a new, successful path for herself and now here we are, talking about her book... I think this is too important for me not to acknowledge and the ultimate answer to everyone in our life that tries to kill our dreams with doubts and fear.
Υ.Γ. Ο Λιχούδης που γράφει που και που στο blog μου επιμένει να σας δείξω τα cupcakes που είχαν εκείνο το απόγευμα στο Nostalgie im Kinderzimmer. Είχαν και χειροποίητα αναψυκτικά σε τέλεια μπουκαλάκια και πολλά άλλα πράγματα που ήμουν πολύ ενθουσιασμένη γενικά για να φωτογραφήσω... Ήταν ένα υπέροχο, υπέροχο πάρτυ!
P.S. The Food-lover co writing my blog insisted that I had to show you the cupcakes that were offered that evening in Nostalgie im Kinderzimmer. They also had homemade refreshments in cute bottles and many other things I was too excited to take photos of and it was in all a lovely, lovely party!
Υ.Γ 2 Η επίσημη παρουσίαση του βιβλίου θα γίνει στο Βερολίνο στις 12 Νοεμβρίου και δεν ξέρω πώς και τι αλλά πρέπει να πάω!
P.S. 2 The official launch party will take place in Berlin on November the 12th and I need to be there!
